Day 2 Cache Creek, BC to Dawson Creek, BC

Saturday, June 15

This was a very early day.  We left Brookside RV Park in Cache Creek around 6:30am heading the wrong direction, but it didn't take long before we made a flip and was on our way  to Prince George.  Anna and Frank saw several deer along the road.  I don't know what happened to John and I, our eyes were somewhere else.  They saw two down in a ravine.  I guess you can say the biggest find was one coyote trying to recover his road kill and he almost became road kill.  I think that might be called bad karma.

When all else fails we talk about the weather, so here goes.  After three hours of driving we ran into a rain/hail storm.  The hail fell so hard it was like power washing our windows.  I forgot to mention that we had plenty bugs hitting our windows so hard you could actually hear the thump so the hail help clear most of them away at least until more bugs found their way once again on our windows.

One great stop was in Chetwynd, BC.  Well we didn't stop but drove very slow so Anna and I could take pictures.  Chetwynd is known for its chainsaw sculptures.  In fact, we just missed their annual "Chainsaw Sculpture Contest" which was last week-end but they still had many sculptures lined through out the town.  They had 123 carvings this year and the community is known as:  Community Carved by Success.

We arrived at the Dawson Creek RV Park approximately 6:15pm.

We'll stay for a couple of nights before moving on to Fort Nelson and then on to Watson Lake, the first stop in the Yukon Territory.

Our mileage for today was, 525.  Hope we don't see any more of those days!
